JD says:

I wrote this song about someone else close to me going through a divorce. What was he really feeling and how could he give it up. What I didn't realize is that the insights I used from inside my mind were from my own situation. I just hadn't realized it yet. Looking back, it makes perfect sense that it was about me all of the time. The only fact that is not right in the song is that I never stopped loving her.
